THE HISTORY OF THE GROUP

The past
Created at the end of the XIXth century, DEPREUX is a very old French textile group which was first located in the North of France.
At the end of World War II, Depreux family decided to enter the field of conveyor belt. That represented a diversification from their main activity and allowed the group to launch itself into a new field which had nothing to do with the clothing industry. The group did extremely well during the 1970's when they employed almost 2000 people.
But later on, when the economic globalisation and the international competition arrived, their people oriented management led DEPREUX textile company to big financial losses and bankruptcy.
After the bankruptcy of the textile company, a group of French and German shareholders took over in 1981 and they are now the exclusive owners of DEPREUX brand for conveyor belts, the only activity which used to be profitable in the former company. That why the DEPREUX name still exist nowadays.
The actual chairman, Mr. MANSOUR, joined the company in 1992 and by buying shares constantly he is the main shareholder today.
