In an underground mine, a conveyor belt is a strategic component of the utmost importance:
- it contributes to the overall safety of a mine, and therefore has to be flame-resistant and have anti-static properties. These rule out the possibility of a fire spreading, or of an explosion in the mine galleries.
- in the operation of a mine, conveyor belts transport large quantities of coal or other minerals from the face up to the surface. Any problem with a conveyor belt could have significant financial consequences, plus emergency breakdown services, and the repairing or replacement of sections of a belt is far more expensive underground than on the surface.

- solid-woven textile conveyor belts up to the type 3150 N/mm,
- belts with a technical and performance that goes beyond the norms and specifications of each of the countries with which we work (e.g. the norm BS 3289 in the United Kingdom),
- belts which are made to last, notably because of their high resistance to incidents such as the wearing down of edges, longitudinal tearing, or heavy impacts,
- belts with several other advantages such as a high resistance when used with mechanical fasteners.
DEPREUX offers a wide range of products, made to comply with the norms and standards of the country in which it is to be used :
- multiply rubber belts, 2 to 5 plies
- solid-woven belts with PVC covers,
- solid-woven belts with rubber covers (Chloroprene PVG or Nitrile PVNI) up to the type 3150 N/mm.
- steel-cord belts with or without breakers that can be made of specially designed fabric or a steel mat.
